How usage is counted
- One call to
/v1/checkis one check, whether the answer is valid, invalid or served from cache. - One call to
/v1/check/batch(up to 100 numbers) uses one batch call. Batch calls have their own quota, so a Pro plan covers 5,000 single checks and up to 10,000 numbers in batches. - Malformed numbers are rejected locally with
INVALID_INPUTbefore reaching VIES. /healthis free and needs no key.

The free web checker validates one number at a time without an account, using the same engine. The Basic plan gives you a real API key with 300 checks a month to wire up your integration.

Who bills me?
RapidAPI handles subscriptions, invoices and payment. Plans are priced in US dollars.
What if VIES is down?
You get an explicit, retryable error code, or a recent cached answer clearly marked cache_stale. Never a silent timeout.
